This is an annual foursomes match-play competition, open to all female and male members, played in accordance with the following rules:
The pair decides which of them tees off first, the other player in the pair hits the second shot, the first player hits the third shot, and so on until the ball is holed, or the hole conceded. Players alternate hitting tee shots so the player who hit off the first tee plays all odd holes the other plays all even holes. In the case of a ball being hit out of bounds, or a possibility of not being found, a provisional ball must be played by the player who did not take the previous shot.
a) Pairs (own choice) to play foursomes match-play under handicap on a knock-out basis.
b) The handicap allowance for each pair in each match will be 1/2 of the combined difference between one pair and the other. Add 4 to ladies’ handicap
c) All matches to be played on the Sharnbrook course.
d) All matches will be over 18 holes – in the event of the match being ‘all square’ after 18 holes it will be continued as the best of three holes over the 1st, 2nd and 7th holes. If after the 7th hole the match is still square the procedure shall be repeated until an advantage is gained. Strokes to be taken as per the stroke index when playing these holes in a full round.
